Dow Gains Over 100 Points; AutoZone Posts Upbeat Earnings

U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 100 points on Tuesday. Following the market opening Tuesday, the Dow traded up 0.24% to 52,171.55 while the NASDAQ climbed 0.39% to 27,228.76. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.18% to 7,778.83. Leading and Lagging Sectors Communication services shares jumped by 1.1% on Tuesday. In trading on Tuesday, energy stocks fell by 1.3%. Top Headline AutoZone Inc. (NYSE:AZO) reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings. AutoZone reported fourth-quarter earnings of $56.05 per share, beating the analyst estimate of $53.98. Revenue rose 5.6% year over year to $6.595 billion, slightly below Wall Street expectations of $6.681 billion. Equities Trading UP Lianhe Sowell International Group Ltd (NASDAQ:LHSW) shares shot up 159% to $1.12 after the company announced it entered into a strategic cooperation agrement with Kumquat Technology to promote intelligent equipment solutions across China’s automotive aftermarket. Shares of Decoy Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:DCOY) got a boost, surging 135% to $6.02 after the company announced a refined corporate strategy to explore its D-MAVs for additional candidates. Quanome Technologies, Inc (NASDAQ:QNME) shares were also up, gaining 97% to $1.26 after the company announced it entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement and related purchase order with Compal Electronics for the purchase of 32 GPU server units. Equities Trading DOWN Hub Cyber Security Ltd (NASDAQ:HUBC) shares dropped 36% to $3.86 after jumping 30% on Monday. Shares of Compass Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:CMPX) were down 30% to $1.28 after the company announced that the FDA recommended it conduct a trial demonstrating a survival benefit before proceeding with a Biologics License Application submission for tovecimig in patients with previously treated, advanced biliary tract cancer. Black Titan Corp (NASDAQ:BTTC) was down, falling 25% to $0.60 after jumping 118% on Monday. CommoditiesIn commodity news, oil traded down 2.4% to $93.51 while gold traded down 0.2% at $4,373.70. Silver traded down 0.1% to $66.370 on Tuesday, while copper rose 1.3% to $6.8480. Euro zone European shares were higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 climbed 0.5%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.9%, London’s FTSE 100 gained 0.1%, Germany’s DAX gained 0.7%, while France’s CAC 40 surged 0.6%. Asia Pacific Markets Asian markets closed mixed on Tuesday, with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rising 0.18%, China’s Shanghai Composite rising 0.06% and India’s BSE Sensex falling 0.44%.
