Borr Drilling Confirms Prospector 5 Rig Incident Offshore Gabon

Borr Drilling confirmed that its Prospector 5 rig sank offshore Gabon on October 24, 2026, after a “punch through” during preload activities caused it to lose stability. Of the 115 people aboard, 110 have been accounted for and five remain missing. Borr activated its emergency response team and is coordinating search-and-rescue efforts with local authorities and customer BW Energy.
