Google's AI division, DeepMind, has appointed Jasjeet Sekhon as chief strategy officer, previously serving as chief scientist at Bridgewater Associates. Sekhon will also join Bridgewater's board after leaving his operational roles. This strategic hire comes as Google intensifies its competition against rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic, having launched significant AI products over the past year, which contributed to an 87.74% increase in Alphabet Class A shares and an 84.21% rise in Class C shares over the last 12 months.
