Google and Georgia Power have announced a partnership to support uprates on Georgia Power's nuclear units at Plants Vogtle and Hatch, which will add approximately 96 megawatts of new capacity to the electric grid. This agreement, pending approval from the Georgia Public Service Commission, is expected to provide around $900 million in projected benefits to customers over the lifespan of the units. The initiative aims to enhance clean and reliable nuclear energy in Georgia, where nuclear power accounts for over 25% of the state's energy production.
