KALA Bio (KALA) Shares Soar 57% After Hours: Here's Why

Kala Bio Inc. (NASDAQ:KALA) shares rose 57.10% to $0.79 in after-hours trading Tuesday after the company announced it had signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire a nationwide telehealth platform. KALA Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company building an on-premises AI infrastructure platform for the biotechnology industry. The Telehealth Target KALA signed a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) on Sept. 24 to acquire 100% of a privately held management services organization supporting a telehealth platform serving clients in all 50 states, according to a press release. The target platform is LegitScript-certified and NABP-accredited. The proposed acquisition is valued at approximately $15 million, payable in a combination of cash and KALA stock, with the cash portion funded from existing balance sheet resources. The target generated approximately $12.7 million in revenue for the trailing twelve months ended August 2026, unaudited, and is cash-flow positive. Since its founding in 2023, the target has served more than 90,000 clients and generated over $48 million in sales, focused on GLP-1 weight management, hormone health, longevity and sexual wellness. Minkowitz on the Deal “This transaction would add an established, revenue-generating platform to KALA’s operating business,” said Avi Minkowitz, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of KALA. He said the company is targeting closing in late 2026 or early 2027, following a 45-day due diligence period expected to conclude in November 2026. Over the past year, KALA Bio shares have fallen 99.34%. The stock has traded between a 52-week high of $123.00 and a 52-week low of $0.40.
