Health Canada has given the go-ahead to Lipocine Inc. Annually, healthcare professionals in Canada write over 700,000 prescriptions for TRT. About half of these patients have coverage through private insurance plans.Lipocine views the current landscape, characterized by limited promotional activity for existing TRT products, as an opening for TLANDO to secure a substantial share of this expanding market.Presently, intramuscular injections dominate the TRT prescription market. While topical gels are also common, they come with drawbacks, such as the risk of transferring the medication to others and the inconvenience of application.Both of these established methods require dose adjustments (titration) and have links to patient compliance challenges and elevated discontinuation rates.Lipocine anticipates that TLANDO, as an oral therapy that does not require titration, will offer a safe, effective, and more convenient alternative.This oral option could potentially improve patient adherence while sidestepping the transference risks associated with gels and the injection site issues tied to injectables.LPCN Price Action: Lipocine shares were up 15.72% at $2.43 at the time of publication on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
