Dan Loeb‘s Third Point boosted investment in the entertainment industry in the second quarter of 2026. The company made Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) its single largest holding in the second quarter, buying 20 million shares, valued at about $533 million, as of June 30. Also, the investor increased his stake in Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:LYV) by 144%, to around 1.14 million shares in the second quarter, up from 465,000 shares in the first quarter of 2026. Discovery Recent News: Live Nation Entertainment reported second-quarter EPS of $1.05, exceeding the $0.62 analyst estimate, while revenue of $7.666 billion topped the $7.550 billion consensus estimate. President and CEO Michael Rapino said demand for live entertainment remains strong as fans continue to prioritize in-person experiences despite the rise of digital and AI-generated content. Concerts revenue grew 8% in the second quarter, with adjusted operating income (AOI) affected by show timing and continued investments in venues and festivals.
