MAIA Biotechnology, Inc. has received regulatory approval from the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices and Portugal’s National Authority of Medicines and Health Products to begin screening patients for its pivotal Phase 3 THIO-104 clinical trial targeting non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This trial is significant as Spain and Portugal collectively report around 30,000 new NSCLC cases annually, with NSCLC making up about 82% of lung cancer cases in Portugal. The company is advancing towards a key interim survival analysis scheduled for 2027.
