Einride Taps NVIDIA to Put More Self-Driving Trucks on the Highway

Einride AB (NASDAQ:ENRD) said Monday it entered a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous heavy-duty trucks across highway and suburban routes. Einride will build the next generation of its autonomous-driving system, known as the Einride Driver, on NVIDIA’s DRIVE Hyperion platform. The companies will adapt NVIDIA’s compute, sensor, software and safety architecture for heavy-duty freight operations. The collaboration is expected to support Einride’s broader push into highway and suburban autonomous trucking. Targets Bigger Autonomous Fleet Einride operates hundreds of electric trucks for major shippers across the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Its network also includes autonomous trucks in contracted customer deployments. The company expects its fleet to expand to 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles by 2028. The company said said about 80% of the demand currently captured on its platform could be suitable for automation over the medium term. Einride develops its autonomous-driving system in-house. That includes safety validation, regulatory approvals and customer deployments. NVIDIA provides the underlying computing platform and AI development tools. See More: Top Momentum Stocks NVIDIA AI Tools Support Development The company plans to use NVIDIA Blackwell infrastructure through an NVIDIA Exemplar Cloud partner to train and test its autonomous-driving models. It is also using NVIDIA Cosmos to identify difficult driving scenarios and create synthetic training data. Einride said this could improve the diversity of data used to train and validate its autonomous vehicles. NVIDIA Hyperion provides a production-ready compute and sensor architecture designed for Level 4 autonomous driving. Einride Chief Technology Officer Henrik Green said the collaboration could help the company scale autonomous deployments across its existing freight network.
