Q/C Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: QCLS) has launched a new initiative to design and prototype a proprietary optical processing unit (OPU) to address performance and energy constraints in artificial intelligence inference infrastructure. The OPU aims to improve upon traditional electronic GPUs by utilizing optical computing for faster matrix multiplication and lower energy requirements.
