Roche has launched the cobas MPX-E, a multiplex real-time PCR assay that allows for the simultaneous detection of HIV, HCV, HBV, and HEV in donor screening. This test enhances laboratory efficiency and reduces healthcare costs by providing four critical results in one test, while also enabling faster turnaround times and facilitating HEV screening without the need for additional equipment. The assay is compatible with the cobas x800 systems, supporting high-throughput screening with up to 8 hours of walk-away time.
