Uber To Invest Up To $1.25B In Rivian Through 2031

Uber Technologies, Inc. will invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian Automotive, Inc. through 2031, contingent on achieving specific autonomous performance milestones. The partnership aims to deploy 10,000 fully autonomous R2 robotaxis initially in San Francisco and Miami by 2028, with plans to expand to 25 cities by 2031. An initial investment of $300 million has been committed, subject to regulatory approval, and there is an option to negotiate for up to 40,000 additional vehicles starting in 2030.
