SpaceX Is Coming For Telecom Companies: AT&T, Verizon And T-Mobile Tumble

SpaceX has agreed to purchase a nationwide portfolio of up to 14 megahertz of paired 800 MHz licenses from Grain Management for approximately $8 billion. This acquisition has negatively impacted major U.S. telecom companies AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, which collectively lost about $39 billion in market value following the announcement. The new spectrum will enhance SpaceX's Starlink Mobile service, allowing it to provide phone coverage in the U.S. without needing leasing agreements with existing carriers, as ruled by the FCC.
