Austin to San Antonio in Under 30 Minutes? Elon Musk Says Boring Company Is Working on 200+ MPH Tunnel to Beat Traffic

Elon Musk says The Boring Company is working on a high-speed tunnel between Austin and San Antonio that could cut travel times to less than 30 minutes. Speeds Above 200 MPH In a post on X, Musk shared an old video by user Aze Alter that showcased what the future could look like. Musk then responded to his own post, touting a new hyperloop. “Boring Company is working on a simple, precursor Hyperloop tunnel between Austin and San Antonio (>200 mph),” Musk said. He added that because of “traffic congestion,” the journey between the two cities could take up to two and a half hours. Notably, Boring Co. said that the UAE partnership may also involve over 93 miles of underground infrastructure down the road, building on its previously announced Dubai Loop project. Elsewhere, Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is gearing up for the debut of the Roadster high-performance vehicle on October 1st, which, Musk has said, would have “guaranteed” excitement. Tesla also began taking reservations for the Roadster again, ahead of the launch, charging prospective buyers $50,000 to make their reservation. A Tesla SpaceX Merger? Last week, the billionaire also fueled speculation of a possible merger between Tesla and commercial spaceflight company Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) during an appearance on the All In Podcast, citing deep collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX.
