RTX Unit Pratt & Whitney Delivers First GTF Advantage Engines For Use On United Airlines' Airbus A321XLR

Pratt & Whitney has delivered the first GTF Advantage engines for United Airlines' Airbus A321XLR, featuring advanced technology that offers up to twice the time on wing and 4-8% more takeoff thrust compared to the current GTF engine. The GTF Advantage is designed to be fully intermixable with existing GTF engines, facilitating operations for airlines with mixed fleets. Pratt & Whitney plans to transition its entire PW1100G-JM production line to the Advantage specification by 2028, and current GTF engine customers can upgrade to the GTF Hot Section Plus (HS+) for enhanced durability starting next year.
