U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that the U.S. is not targeting Iran's energy infrastructure and has permitted Iranian oil to continue flowing from the Gulf. There is a possibility that the U.S. may unsanction Iranian oil currently on water in the coming days. Bessent also mentioned that the U.S. has additional measures it can take regarding oil supply, including a potential release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to help keep prices down, with approximately 140 million barrels of Iranian oil involved.
