WEC Energy Group Announces $47.5 Billion Capital Investment Plan

WEC Energy Group announced a $47.5 billion capital investment plan for 2027–2031, up 26% from its previous plan. The spending includes an additional $6.8 billion for natural gas generation, $1.2 billion for transmission infrastructure, and $1.1 billion for renewable energy and battery storage. The company expects electricity demand to increase by 4.9 gigawatts over the five years, driven in part by data center developments along the I-94 corridor.
