X-Energy Unit TRISO-X Completes Vertical Construction At TX-1, Its Advanced Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Facility In Oak Ridge, Tennessee

X-Energy's unit TRISO-X has completed vertical construction of its TX-1 advanced nuclear fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, marking a significant milestone in the project. The 214,000-square-foot facility is set to produce approximately 700,000 TRISO-X fuel pebbles annually, equivalent to 5 metric tons of uranium, supporting up to 11 Xe-100 reactors. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted a 40-year Special Nuclear Material License for TX-1, which is the first commercial-scale advanced U.S. nuclear fuel fabrication facility built in over 50 years. The company is also expanding its operations and partnerships to meet growing demand for nuclear energy.
