Xenon Pharmaceuticals has voluntarily paused enrollment of new patients in its ongoing clinical studies for major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar depression (BPD) due to neuropsychiatric adverse events. Current participants will remain active in the studies, and the pause is a precautionary measure taken in consultation with the Data Safety Monitoring Board. The company is evaluating potential dosing modifications to address these adverse events, which were not previously observed in the Phase 2 X-NOVA study. This action does not affect ongoing studies related to epilepsy.
